Vortex Strike

by Michael Denathorn (Dabzy)

A Tempest-style vector tube-shooter across 16 morphing webs. Flip around the rim, blast the flippers, tankers, spikers, pulsars and fuseballs clawing up the tube, and ration your shield and superzapper to survive. The whole tube is wireframe - just lines and a bit of maths.

Description
A vector tube-shooter where the entire playfield is nothing but lines and maths. Each of the 16 webs is generated and drawn with b2dDrawLine, the player flips around the rim, and every enemy climbing the tube is positioned by a single 0-to-1 depth value lerped from the far end up to the rim - no textures and no 3D engine anywhere. Written in BambooBasic and transpiled to JavaScript for the browser.

An unofficial project inspired by Tempest. Tempest and related trademarks belong to Atari. Not affiliated with Atari.
